The platform chosen should provide information that is relevant and valuable to the people or firms that will be looking for you. Do not build your profile on a platform that restricts access because strangers cannot find you. It should also be a platform with a good reputation.

The information uploaded must be truthful and verifiable. Consistency is required when posting on different platforms. If uploaded information conflicts, it will be difficult to explain. The contact channels should be active and convenient to use. You must keep checking for information from your platforms to avoid losing on a lucrative deal.

Provide precise information on the portfolio. Some details are import for consumption by clients while others are not. Only provide what is relevant to your goals and that which will help potential clients to make a decision. Details that are too personal will be tiring to read. In fact, a person should make the decision by perusing through your collection in a few minutes. Do not be too scanty nor wordy.
